Responsibilities
Kingwood Pines Hospital is a 116-bed facility located in the Kingwood community, approximately 30 miles northeast of the Houston Medical Center. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services and serves children, adolescents, and adults for psychiatric and behavioral health, including intensive outpatient and partial hospital program services. Under the direction of the Director, Admissions/Intake, the Assistant Director of Admissions/Intake provides direct leadership to Admissions staff and participates in the admission process for inpatient, partial, or outpatient programs.
The role includes assisting with psychiatric assessments and basic medical screening for patients presented for assessment and evaluation, and facilitating referrals for outpatient services and other community resources.
- Provide direct leadership to Admissions staff under the Director, Admissions/Intake.
- Assist with psychiatric assessments and basic medical screening for all psychiatric and chemical dependency patients presented for assessment and evaluation.
- Coordinate the admission process for inpatient, partial, or outpatient programs.

A minimum of four (4) years direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting is required. Working knowledge of the Addiction & Recovery field and experience in clinical interviewing, patient assessment, family motivation, treatment planning, communicating with external review organizations or comparable entities, and working effectively with people of diverse backgrounds. A minimum of two (2) years of leadership experience managing a related function is required.
Must have strong management skills with the ability to effectively communicate with staff and ensure proper employee performance management.
Bachelor of Science degree in social work, mental health/behavioral sciences, or related field required;
Master’s Degree preferred.
Current Texas License as a Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) required. CPR, Handle with Care and Verbal De-Escalation Training can be obtained upon hire. Texas Driver s License required.
