Primary PurposeResponsible for routine duties related to the operation of the school clinic.
Qualifications and Skills- Education/Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent. - Special Knowledge/
Skills:
Effective organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. - Special Knowledge/
Skills:
Ability to use personal computer and software. - Special Knowledge/
Skills:
Ability to work effectively with people.
- Nurse Support:
- Administer basic first aid and care to ill and injured students according to district policy.
- Refer specific student health problems and concerns, including consultation for the ill or injured student, to the assigned school nurse.
- Perform health screenings according to district and state guidelines.
- Assist the assigned school nurse in preparations for health teaching activities.
- Clerical Support:
- Assist in enforcing immunization statutes and prepare cumulative health records for new students.
- Maintain clinic inventory and ensure a healthful clinic environment.
- Update and maintain medical records for students at regular and/or required intervals.
- Process health information via computer system.
- Other:
- Serve as liaison between school, home and community.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
