Nursing Professional Development Specialist

Nursing Education is seeking a Nursing Professional Development Specialist to join our team.

This role is scheduled to work Monday through Friday and requires flexibility to adjust work hours as needed to support orientation and educational activities on weekends, night shifts, and other times necessary to meet institutional goals and the needs of the clinical areas served.

Salary Range
  • Minimum: $111,000
  • Midpoint: $139,000
  • Maximum: $167,000
Job Summary

Provides expertise in nursing professional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates evidence-based nursing professional development programs.
  • Facilitates training and educational programs for nursing staff.
  • Maintains required documentation and records.
  • Serves as a consultant, mentor, and resource to nurses and interdisciplinary team members.

EDUCATION

  • Required:

    Master's Degree Nursing. or
  • Required:

    Bachelor's Degree Nursing. and
  • Required:

    Master's Degree Healthcare or related field.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Required:

    5 years Clinical nursing experience in oncology or assigned specialty practice area.
  • Preferred:
    For nursing education, two years of preceptor or instructor experience.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Required:

    RN
    - Registered Nurse
    - State Licensure State of Texas Professional Nursing License (RN). Upon Hire and
  • Required:

    BLS
    - Basic Life Support Upon Hire or
  • Required:

    CPR
    - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation Upon Hire
  • Preferred: OCN
    - Oncology Nurse Certification Certification in oncology or specialty practice area. Upon Hire
  • Preferred: ACLS
    - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification as required by patient care area. Upon Hire
  • Preferred: PALS
    - Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification as required by patient care area. Upon Hire
