The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and a Master's Degree in a healthcare field, and five years of clinical nursing experience, including three years of oncology nursing experience. The candidate must hold a current Texas RN license, maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification. The ideal candidate must also be available to work 100% on-site for an 8 hour day shift schedule with one evening shift per week, and rotating weekends and holidays (minor holidays included).
The Surgical Urology/Orthopedic unit is a 32-bed unit for an adult patient population. This fast-paced environment has rapid turnover for surgical procedures, which include postoperative prostatectomy, cystectomy, penectomy, nephrectomy, and orthopedic surgeries. Unique postoperative care of hemipelvectomy, flap monitoring, and testicular cancer surgeries are also managed on this unit. The team uses an interdisciplinary collaborative approach to patient care. Integrated in our nursing practice are tools used to maximize the skills of team members to achieve optimal outcome and improved healthcare quality.
Hourly breakdown of salary range:
Minimum $53.36 | Midpoint $66.82 | Maximum $80.29

Essential Job Functions:
- Identify quality and process improvement opportunities
- Lead and collaborate with the interprofessional team in planning, delivery, and evaluation of patient focused care
- Coordinate and integrate care across the continuum for assigned patient populations
- Analyze patient data and outcomes to drive improvements in care delivery

Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing;
Master's Degree in a healthcare field

Experience
Required:
Five years of clinical nursing experience including three years of oncology nursing experience, or three years of oncology nursing experience with a preferred advanced degree
Experience Preferred: Two years of charge nurse experience or two years of previous leadership experience
Licensure/Certification
Required:
Current State of Texas Professional Nursing License (RN);
Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR);
Certification in quality or specialty focused area
