Registered Nurse (RN) II, PACU, Evening Shift

At Houston Methodist, the Registered Nurse (RN) II position is a licensed staff nurse and an experienced clinician. The RN II provides professional nursing care to a diverse patient population, performs nursing assessments, assists with exams and treatment, provides patient education, and maintains medical records. The RN II delivers direct patient care efficiently for patients with varied and complex needs. This role communicates and collaborates with physicians and the interprofessional health‑care team to coordinate and maintain compassionate, high‑quality care and achieve desired treatment outcomes.

The RN II demonstrates clinical competence through the use of technology, medication administration, procedures, and emergency management, while acting as a patient and family advocate to uphold patient rights. Leadership responsibilities include participation in or leadership of unit and shared governance initiatives, serving as charge nurse or preceptor, and contributing to hospital‑wide initiatives with management.
