West Janisch Health Care Center is seeking a compassionate and detail‑oriented Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our nursing team.
Key Responsibilities Medication Administration & Documentation- Administer and document oral, ophthalmic, otic, topical, and suppository medications per provider orders and facility policy
- Maintain secure control of medication and treatment carts
- Complete, accurate, and timely EMR documentation
- Perform approved basic skin treatments as ordered
- Monitor and report changes in resident condition or medication side effects
- Communicate concerns promptly to licensed nurses
- Assist with ADLs, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, transfers, and positioning
- Answer call lights and conduct purposeful rounding
- Promote resident safety, dignity, and independence
- Follow infection prevention and safety protocols
- Protect resident privacy and rights
- Work closely with licensed nurses and interdisciplinary team members
- Current Texas Medication Aide (CMA) permit in good standing (required)
- Active Texas CNA certification (required)
- Skilled nursing or long‑term care experience preferred
- Basic computer/EMR proficiency
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to meet local health requirements and pass required screenings
