Chen Med is seeking a Bilingual Medical Assistant to support high-touch, value-based primary care for seniors with complex chronic conditions. In this role, you'll room patients, obtain vitals and histories, assist physicians with exams and procedures, and perform basic tests while documenting accurately in the EHR. You'll coordinate referrals, labs, and follow-ups, and educate patients and families in both English and Spanish.

You'll work in a mission-driven, team-oriented environment focused on respect, compassion, and improving health outcomes for underserved Medicare-eligible patients.

Responsibilities

  • Room and prepare elderly patients for visits, obtaining vital signs and medical histories in both English and Spanish
  • Support physicians during exams and minor procedures, ensuring safety and comfort for seniors with complex conditions
  • Administer medications and injections as directed, and perform basic diagnostic tests (e.g., EKGs, point-of-care testing)
  • Accurately document encounters in the electronic health record (EHR) and maintain organized, confidential charts
  • Coordinate referrals, lab work, and follow-up appointments to support value-based, coordinated care
  • Educate patients and families on medications, chronic disease management, and care plans in a culturally sensitive manner
  • Assist with care coordination across the multidisciplinary team to reduce hospitalizations and improve outcomes
  • Manage clinical supplies, maintain clean, safe exam rooms, and follow infection control protocols
  • Support population health outreach efforts, including appointment reminders and wellness initiatives for underserved seniors
  • Contribute to a mission-driven, team-oriented culture focused on respect, accountability, and continuous improvement
