Position: RN - OR

Surgery Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Surgery Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic orthopedic surgery environment, providing care to patients undergoing various orthopedic procedures.

Unit Information

  • Location:

    2nd Floor Operating Room, City, State
  • Number of Operating Rooms: 17
  • Type of Staff:
    Day Shift: One scrub and one circulator per room, with support techs available for positioning and other duties. Most surgeons are assisted by a PA, CST, or NP. Night Shift: N/A
  • Patient Ratios: N/A
  • Type of Equipment:
    Orthopedic
  • EMR System:
    Meditech

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the operating room setting.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the surgical environment, including the setup of necessary equipment.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in patient education and support throughout the surgical experience.

Qualifications

  • Required Skills:

    Must have large joint and spine orthopedic experience. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team-oriented environment.
  • Preferred

    Skills:

    Well-versed in total joint and spine procedures.

Work Environment

  • Dress Code:
    Scrubs must be Ciel Blue (sky blue). The facility does not provide scrubs.
  • Parking:
    Free parking garage available for employees and contractors.

Unit Guidelines

  • Report to work at 6:45 AM for huddle meetings (Monday, Wednesday, Friday).
  • Shift ends at 5:15 PM; there is no second shift relief.
  • On-call requirement is approximately 4 times per month, Monday through Friday only; most calls will require staying to finish cases.
