Digestive & Liver Disease Consultants (DLDC)

is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our established gastroenterology practice. The NP will provide comprehensive outpatient care to patients with gastrointestinal and liver conditions while collaborating closely with our physicians and clinical team.

Position Summary

The Nurse Practitioner will independently evaluate and manage patients within the scope of practice and in collaboration with supervising physicians. The role includes assessment, diagnosis, treatment, medication management, diagnostic testing, patient education, and appropriate follow-up of GI and liver-related conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate new and established patients, including obtaining medical histories and performing physical examinations.
  • Develop and implement appropriate assessment and treatment plans.
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic studies.
  • Prescribe medications and manage treatment in accordance with applicable regulations and practice protocols.
  • Manage common gastrointestinal and liver conditions and coordinate appropriate physician follow-up when needed.
  • Review laboratory, imaging, pathology, and procedure results and ensure appropriate patient follow-up.
  • Provide pre- and post-procedure evaluation, education, and follow-up as appropriate.
  • Educate patients regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, nutrition, and preventive care.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Coordinate care with physicians, clinical staff, specialists, hospitals, and other healthcare providers.
  • Maintain high standards of patient safety, quality of care, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current and unrestricted Texas APRN/Nurse Practitioner license
    .
  • Current national Nurse Practitioner certification.
  • Current BLS certification
    .
  • Minimum 2 years of Nurse Practitioner experience required.
  • Gastroenterology experience is strongly preferred; however, experienced Nurse Practitioners from Internal Medicine, Cardiology, or other closely related medical specialties are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, documentation, and patient-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a physician-led clinical team.
