Nursing Professional Development Specialist

Nursing Education is seeking a Nursing Professional Development Specialist to join our team.

This role is scheduled to work Monday through Friday and requires flexibility to adjust work hours as needed to support orientation and educational activities on weekends, night shifts, and other times necessary to meet institutional goals and the needs of the clinical areas served.

This position will support the Houston Area Locations (HALs), including League City, Northwest Surgical, Northwest Diagnostic Imaging (Freestanding), and The Woodlands campus areas (Procedures, Ambulatory Treatment Center, Radiation Oncology, and Diagnostic Imaging). The NPDS serves as the primary education resource for these locations and is responsible for assessing learning needs, developing and delivering education, supporting orientation and onboarding, facilitating competency and skills validation, and implementing evidence-based professional development initiatives.

This role requires regular travel between multiple HAL sites and the ability to effectively support a varied range of clinical specialties and practice settings. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical expertise, excellent communication and relationship-building skills, adaptability, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care and staff development across all locations.

Salary Range
  • Minimum: $111,000
  • Midpoint: $139,000
  • Maximum: $167,000

EDUCATION
  • Required:

    Master's Degree Nursing. or
  • Required:

    Bachelor's Degree Nursing. and

    Master's Degree Healthcare or related field.
WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Required:

    5 years Clinical nursing experience in oncology or assigned specialty practice area.
  • Preferred:
    For nursing education, two years of preceptor or instructor experience.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Required:

    RN
    - Registered Nurse
    - State Licensure State of Texas Professional Nursing License (RN). Upon Hire and
  • Required:

    BLS
    - Basic Life Support Upon Hire or
  • Required:

    CPR
    - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation Upon Hire
  • Preferred: OCN
    - Oncology Nurse Certification Certification in oncology or specialty practice area. Upon Hire
