About the Office of Commissioner Rodney Ellis:
Harris County is divided into four precincts. Commissioner Rodney Ellis represents the constituents of Precinct One, one of the most diverse and urban areas in the county. Precinct One serves approximately 1.17 million residents across 363 square miles, including downtown Houston, major landmarks such as the Texas Medical Center and NRG Park, and leading universities. It manages 21 parks, 10 community centers, numerous trails, and several service centers that provide a wide range of services to residents.

To become a national model for delivering responsive public service that utilizes inclusive, innovative, and collaborative approaches to improve quality of life, advance equality of opportunity, and promote fair treatment of all people in Harris County.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Groundskeeping, including mowing, trimming, edging, pruning, tree trimming, removal, planting, and watering.
- Safely operate landscaping equipment and tools, and maintain and clean facilities, restrooms, and equipment.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including weekends, after-hours, and holidays.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.

What you will bring to Precinct One
- Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Experience:
- Caretaker I – one year related experience.
- Caretaker II – three years related experience.
- Caretaker III – five years related experience.
- Licensure: Valid Texas State Driver's License.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Knowledge of operating groundskeeping equipment, power tools, and hand tools.
- Ability to work well with the public and staff members.
- Ability to work outdoors.

Full‑time, regular.
Work Environment and Physical Demands- Stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, walking, standing, climbing, driving, and lifting up to 60 pounds.
- Indoor and outdoor work in all environments, including inclement weather.
- Exposure to heat, cold, loud noise, and dust.
