Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists (GCVS) is seeking an additional Veterinary Medical Oncologist to join our established Medical Oncology service and collaborate with a highly experienced team of specialists. You’ll have the opportunity to manage a diverse oncology caseload while working alongside Radiation Oncology, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Diagnostic Imaging, and other specialty services within the hospital.

Our 60,000-square-foot hospital offers advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities, including MRI, 128-slice CT, a Varian Halcyon radiation therapy system, and an Interventional Radiology Suite.
The Medical Oncology team is also supported by dedicated LVTs, technicians, and client service coordinators, along with opportunities to participate in clinical studies and trials.

- Manage a diverse caseload of medical oncology patients while providing comprehensive, compassionate cancer care.
- Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing chemotherapy, targeted therapies, immunotherapy, palliative care, and multimodal treatment approaches.
- Collaborate closely with Radiation Oncology, Surgery & Orthopedics, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Diagnostic Imaging, and other specialty services.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic and treatment resources to support complex oncology cases.
- Build strong relationships with referring veterinarians through consultation, communication, and continuing education.
- Mentor veterinary interns, specialty interns, residents, and support team members as part of GCVS’s strong culture of education.
- Work closely with LVTs, technicians, and client service coordinators to provide seamless, compassionate patient care.
- Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners throughout diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care.
- Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning.
- DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
- Board Certification in Medical Oncology or Residency Trained in Medical Oncology.
- Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach.
