Overview
The Quality Assurance Mechanical Inspector works in conjunction with other QA Inspectors to support production and test manufactured goods. The QA Mechanical Inspector uses basic mechanical inspection tools and gauges to ensure a quality product line.
Responsibilities- Assurance of material criteria establishment
- Inspects incoming raw materials and components for conformance verification of traceability to existing inspection plans, customer/VMC drawings, sales and purchase orders
- Initiate and manage the MRB (Material Review Board) process
- In Process Product Inspection
- Inspects the integrity of the product to the order with respect to dimensions, correct components, color, etc.
- Randomly samples the in-process product to ensure specifications and dimensional checks
- Identifies manufactured products that do not meet quality specifications
- Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste
- Final Product Inspection
- Ensures final product meets the specific customer order
- Reviews the final sign off on the traveler or work order to release the product to shipping
- Collects quality data for accept and reject rates in all areas
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Word
- Working knowledge of calibration of gauges and ability to use calipers, height gauges, thread gauges, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and apply knowledge to inspection of products
- Knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 symbology

- High School diploma or GED
- 2-3 years of experience in a mechanical inspection environment
- Experience with ISO 9000 a plus
