The Technical Quality Specialist ensures compliance with product, supplier, and quality system requirements within an industrial manufacturing environment. This role manages material traceability, calibration systems, supplier quality processes, third-party inspections, and corrective actions in accordance with API, ISO, and customer standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically strong, and comfortable working with external inspectors and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities Product & Technical Quality- Review and verify Material Test Reports (MTRs) to ensure full material traceability (heat/lot/batch).
- Administer the equipment calibration program and maintain the calibration registry.
- Ensure products meet technical specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements.
- Support technical clarification and corrective actions with suppliers.
- Manage supplier qualification, approval, and performance monitoring.
- Review Certificates of Compliance (CoCs), SDS, and supplier test documentation.
- Assist with supplier audits, scorecards, and resolution of supplier nonconformances.
- Schedule and host inspections and witness testing with agencies such as DNV, ABS, Lloyd’s, and Bureau Veritas.
- Prepare Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), inspection notifications, and supporting documentation.
- Serve as the primary point of contact during inspections (welding, NDT, hydrostatic testing, dimensional checks, etc.).
- Document inspection results, punch lists, and hold point releases.
- Log and track NCRs, deviations, and concessions within the quality system.
- Facilitate root cause analysis and monitor corrective action implementation.
- Support API Q1, ISO 9001, and internal/external audits.
- Maintain accurate quality records and KPI reporting.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–7 years of quality experience in oil & gas, industrial manufacturing, or heavy fabrication.
- Working knowledge of API Q1, ISO 9001, and material traceability requirements.
- Experience coordinating third‑party inspections strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with welding, NDT, hydrostatic testing, and dimensional inspection is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP/QMS systems preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Effective communicator with suppliers, inspectors, and cross‑functional teams
- Organized and able to manage multiple priorities
