Inspection Coordinator
As Inspecting Coordinator you will be part of the Post Order Services team at Saipem America. Your primary purpose is to plan, coordinate, and control all inspection activities related to procured materials and equipment, ensuring the inspections are efficiently scheduled, properly executed, documented, performed on time and closed, in accordance with project requirements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and quality standards, without impacting the project schedule.
Responsibilities- Coordinate inspections to align with manufacturing progress, expediting priorities, and project need dates.
- Prevent inspection‑related delays that could block LD release, affect shipping readiness, or impact construction or offshore activities, and support expediting objectives by removing bottlenecks.
- Ensure the correct ITP is approved and available; inspection scope is clearly defined per PO; hold/witness points respected.
- Coordinate with vendor, third‑party inspection agencies, QA/QC and project quality.
- Review project quality control requirements and contractual documentation to detect discrepancies.
- Support MM in issuance of project QC procedures, finalise PMC and IDS.
- Support MM in PO inspection classification.
- Ensure specialist support to engineering department for review of vendor quality control documents (ITP and test procedures).
- Plan and organise PIM, agree dates and venues with vendors, ensure presence of all necessary participants.
- Ensure correct project inspection notification workflow with client and third parties.
- Check all inspection reports received from internal and external inspectors and ensure correct distribution and filing to the system (SAP).
- After positive final test result, verify that all necessary conditions are satisfactory and issue Inspection Release Note in SAP.
- Manage non‑conformity reports and punch lists if inspection is not satisfactory.
- Review and approve vendor Manufactured Data Book and ensure timely issuance of Final Test Certificate in SAP.
- Evaluate performance of external inspectors using I‑PERF.
- Education:
Diploma in Engineering, technical/industrial discipline, science, or equivalent technical field. - Certification: CSWIP 3.1, NDT Level II (any method) and/or API 510/570/653.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in vendor/shop inspection coordination, inspection scheduling & control, and interface with procurement/expediting, vendors & manufacturers, and third‑party inspection agencies.
- Languages:
English. - Technical knowledge: inspection or inspection coordination experience in oil & gas/EPC projects.
- Some travelling within the Americas may be expected.
