Element Staffing is recruiting for an Analytical Production Chemist for a specialty reference materials and analytical standards company in the South Houston area. The Analytical Production Chemist will be responsible for performing analytical testing on raw materials, in-process blends, finished products, proficiency testing samples, and customer samples using GC instrumentation and related analytical techniques.
Duties/Responsibilities- Perform analytical testing on raw materials, in-process materials, finished products, and customer samples
- Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and verify analytical instrumentation including GC-FID, GC-TCD, GC-SCD, GC-MS, UVF, and related laboratory equipment
- Conduct analytical testing in accordance with ASTM, GPA, ISO, UOP, and IP methodologies
- Work with analytical methods including:
- ASTM D1945, ASTM D1946, ASTM D2163, GPA 2261, GPA 2286, ASTM D2177, ASTM D2186, and related hydrocarbon testing methods
- Review and verify analytical data to ensure products meet specification requirements
- Perform quality checks and pressure checks on finished products prior to release
- Identify and report out-of-specification (OOS) results and assist with investigations as needed
- Participate in non-conformance report (NCR) investigations and corrective actions
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, analytical documentation, and quality system paperwork
- Ensure laboratory instrumentation remains in proper working condition and notify management of equipment issues
- Support ISO 17025, ISO 17034, and ISO 17043 quality and compliance requirements
- Safely handle chemicals, compressed gas cylinders, and laboratory materials in accordance with SDS and safety procedures
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organization, and safety standards
- Collaborate with production, quality, and technical teams to support operational goals
- Assist with special projects and cross-functional laboratory activities as assigned
- Hands-on GC experience strongly preferred

Experience:
4+ years of analytical laboratory experience - Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related scientific field required
- Shift/Travel: Monday–Friday, Day Shift
- Compensation: $33-36/hr DOE
- Assignment Type: Contract-to-Hire
- Location: South Houston, TX Area
