US Foods Produce Inspector

Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 7:00am to 8:00am.

• Communicate daily with buyers and warehouse manager on all issues related to perishable items; recommend actions for dump, damage, or repackaging.
• Inspect and verify purchase order quantities for all inbound perishable loads.
• Inspect all inbound trucks for signs of pests and rodents before unloading.
• Ensure compliance with all SOPs for receiving, storage, and shipping; identify issues to warehouse management.
• Document temperatures of all inbound loads and report any violations.
• Maintain proper rotation of all produce inventory and other perishable items.
• Perform daily quality inspections of all perishable items.
• Perform daily date checks and remove all outdated product from pick and reserve slots.
• Complete daily dump and damage reports and deliver to warehouse supervisor or inventory control.

Internal:
Buyers, Warehouse Management.

External:
Vendors, Suppliers, Third‑Party Consultants, Regulatory Bodies.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of produce experience (food service, retail, grower/shipper) or similar.
• Must operate an electric pallet jack.
• Must work well without close supervision.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and sit/stand for extended periods.
• Team player, flexible, and eager to learn as the business evolves.

Base hourly rate: $18.18–$30.30, depending on experience, education, and location.

Overtime may be available.
