QC Technician

Location:

Houston, TX.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee test results for all AKBMM finished products according to specifications and relevant procedures
  • Conduct test results for raw materials according to specifications and relevant procedures
  • Perform analyses for in-process and release samples according to specifications and relevant procedures
  • Manage analytical testing of third parties’ products
  • Prepare, pack and ship samples to external laboratories as needed
  • Investigate and interpret data to determine if the reported data meets specifications or expected outcomes
  • Perform investigations on out of trends and out-of-specification results
  • Prepare documents enabling the traceability of results obtained in laboratory experiments
  • Review and follow standard operating procedures, test methods, work instructions and department policies
  • Participate in writing and updating standard operating procedures
  • Maintain equipment maintenance and calibration within the QC lab and other QC areas.
  • Perform daily verification of instruments
  • Perform laboratory instrument and analytical method troubleshooting
  • Work closely with QC Manager, Senior QC Technicians and other departments such as production, warehouse
  • Ensure safe working conditions and compliance with all health and safety regulations and company safety protocols
  • Job requires availability to work on certain weekends and holidays
Required Skills
  • Experience with a wide range of relevant analytical techniques and instrumentation are preferred
  • Expertise: GC, HPLC, IC are preferred
  • Experience with data analysis and knowledge generation tools
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to multi-task and have strong work ethic
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds at a time.
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or related major
  • 1-2 years experience preferred
