QC Technician
Location:
Houston, TX.
- Oversee test results for all AKBMM finished products according to specifications and relevant procedures
- Conduct test results for raw materials according to specifications and relevant procedures
- Perform analyses for in-process and release samples according to specifications and relevant procedures
- Manage analytical testing of third parties’ products
- Prepare, pack and ship samples to external laboratories as needed
- Investigate and interpret data to determine if the reported data meets specifications or expected outcomes
- Perform investigations on out of trends and out-of-specification results
- Prepare documents enabling the traceability of results obtained in laboratory experiments
- Review and follow standard operating procedures, test methods, work instructions and department policies
- Participate in writing and updating standard operating procedures
- Maintain equipment maintenance and calibration within the QC lab and other QC areas.
- Perform daily verification of instruments
- Perform laboratory instrument and analytical method troubleshooting
- Work closely with QC Manager, Senior QC Technicians and other departments such as production, warehouse
- Ensure safe working conditions and compliance with all health and safety regulations and company safety protocols
- Job requires availability to work on certain weekends and holidays
- Experience with a wide range of relevant analytical techniques and instrumentation are preferred
- Expertise: GC, HPLC, IC are preferred
- Experience with data analysis and knowledge generation tools
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, good verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to multi-task and have strong work ethic
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds at a time.
- Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or related major
- 1-2 years experience preferred
