Salary Range: $45,000.00 To $67,000.00 Annually.
Who We Are:
For over 90 years, Heath Consultants Incorporated has been a trusted name in natural gas safety services. We are a family‑owned company with deep roots in protecting people, infrastructure, and communities through precision instrumentation and field expertise. At Heath, quality isn’t a department — it’s a culture. Every product we build carries that commitment.
Job Purpose:
We’re looking for a detail‑oriented and proactive Quality Assurance Inspector to join our team. In this role, you’ll serve as a critical guardian of product integrity, performing hands‑on inspections, driving compliance with engineering specifications, and surfacing risks before they become problems. You’ll work cross‑functionally with engineering, production, and supply chain teams, ensuring that everything leaving our facility meets the standard our customers expect.
Candidates MUST be local to the Houston, TX area (Near Hobby Airport) for the interview process and work environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform random critical parts inspections to verify compliance with engineering specifications and fit, form, and function requirements
- Conduct regular process and QMS audits: identifying gaps, documenting them clearly, and driving issues to resolution
- Complete final inspections of instruments as required before products reach the customer
- Log and report nonconformances for parts, processes, and finished products to the appropriate stakeholders
- Identify supplier‑related risk early, document findings thoroughly, and follow through to corrective action
- Proactively escalate risks that may impact production output, product quality, or delivery timelines
- Recommend improvements in quality procedures, component selection, and manufacturing processes
- Champion quality improvement projects and contribute actively to a culture of continuous improvement
- Support cross‑functional initiatives and additional quality projects as business needs evolve
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent hands‑on experience)
- 3+ years of experience in a quality‑related role, with emphasis on auditing, inspection, or quality systems
- Familiarity with electronic assemblies including wiring harnesses and PCBAs
- Ability to interpret schematics and work instructions in the context of fit, form, and function
- Understanding of test and calibration outputs and their relationship to product compliance
- IPC‑610 and IPC‑620 certification preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems, and Solid Works
What Sets You Apart:
You don’t just find problems — you solve them. You notice what others miss, document with precision, and communicate findings without hesitation. Whether you’re flagging a supplier risk or presenting audit results to leadership, you bring clarity and follow‑through. You’re organized, technically sharp, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Manufacturing floor setting
- Exposure to vibration, fumes, and airborne particles
- Work near moving mechanical parts
- Occasional exposure to electrical equipment
- Primarily on your feet throughout the shift
- Regular lifting up to 25 lbs; occasional up to 50 lbs
- Frequent use of hands for precision tasks
- Close vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment required
