Position Summary

The Quality Engineer ensures that products, processes, and systems meet defined standards of quality, reliability, and performance. This role drives continuous improvement, leads root-cause investigations, and partners closely with engineering, operations, and suppliers to prevent defects and optimize quality outcomes.

Position Details
  • Location: On-site

  • Work Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Monday – Friday)

  • Salary Range: $92,000 – $100,000 per year (commensurate with experience)

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes, procedures, and standards.

  • Lead root-cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) activities using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, and FMEA.

  • Perform process capability studies, statistical analysis, and data-driven decision-making to improve product quality.

  • Collaborate with design engineering to ensure manufacturability and quality are built into new products (PFMEA, control plans).

  • Conduct internal and supplier audits to ensure compliance with AS9100 or other relevant quality standards.

  • Develop inspection criteria, test methods, and quality documentation.

  • Support production teams with troubleshooting, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Review specifications and customer requirements to ensure ERP systems meet all quality criteria, and handle concession requests.

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as defect rates, yield, scrap, and customer complaints to drive action plans.

  • Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve incoming material quality.

  • Champion a strong culture of quality across the entire organization.

Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or a related field).
  • 2–5+ years of experience in quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, or process engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (SPC, FMEA, MSA, control plans, Lean/Six Sigma).
  • Experience with AS9100 or other quality management systems (QMS).
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel, Minitab, JMP, or similar).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required due to government contract compliance.
Preferred:
  • Familiarity with GD&T and engineering drawings.
  • Experience with supplier quality management.
  • Hands-on experience working directly in a manufacturing environment.
