We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Supervisor to lead a Quality Control Inspection team within a growing industrial manufacturing operation in Houston, TX.
This position is responsible for overseeing daily inspection priorities, developing and coaching inspection personnel, monitoring quality performance, and ensuring compliance with established quality standards, procedures, and customer requirements.
The ideal candidate brings strong leadership experience along with a technical background in industrial manufacturing, fabrication, welding inspection, ISO 9001 quality systems, and applicable ASME/AWS codes

- Lead and supervise full-time and contract Quality Control inspection personnel, including hiring, training, coaching, performance management, and career development.
- Establish daily inspection priorities based on production and project requirements.
- Forecast QC staffing and headcount needs based on production backlog and workload.
- Monitor department budget performance and provide staffing and budget recommendations to Quality leadership.
- Track and report quality KPIs, including NCRs and continuous improvement activities.
- Identify quality trends and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve quality performance.
- Ensure compliance with established inspection processes, procedures, standards, and quality requirements.
- Lead weekly QA/QC review meetings and prepare weekly and monthly quality reports.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Materials, Operations, and other departments to resolve quality issues.
- Coordinate and schedule outside inspectors when required.
- Review and update inspection procedures, processes, checkpoints, and inspection requirements.
- Stay current on developments in inspection methods, testing equipment, quality systems, and continuous improvement practices.
- 7-10 years of related Quality Assurance/Quality Control experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2-5 years of supervisory or lead experience overseeing inspectors, auditors, QA/QC personnel, or similar teams.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with ISO 9001:2015 or other quality management systems.
- Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
. - Experience forecasting staffing/headcount requirements.
- Demonstrated knowledge of applicable quality, welding, fabrication, and construction standards such as ASME Sections VIII, IX and V, ASME B31.9, ISO 9001, AISC, AWS D1.1, and SSPC
. - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, procedures, weld maps, weld symbols, PFDs, P&IDs, and related mechanical/electrical drawings.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic file management systems.
- Ability to work additional hours when required by project demands.
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
- Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)
- ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor training/certification
Associate degree in a related technical/science field or equivalent relevant experience required.
COMPENSATIONSalary Range: $85,000-$100,000 annually
Final compensation will be based on relevant experience, qualifications, technical expertise, and other job-related factors.
