- Conduct safety audits of facilities to pinpoint unsafe working conditions, behaviors and practices and develop sound recommendations for corrections
- Investigate injury reports and follow-up to ensure corrective action is taken
- Maintain all required documentation for JLG’s DOT program
- Coordinate industrial hygiene testing and implement corrective action, if required
- Oversee safety-related training that is required to remain in compliance with all applicable regulation
- Update management on the status of JLG’s safety program through monthly and quarterly reports
- Strengthen and lead the Company’s ergonomics program
- Coordinate the services of insurance carriers and outside consulting personnel
- Organize, plan, and steer the Safety Representative Program to ensure that Oshkosh employees are provided with a safe workplace
- Work closely with our Health Services Manager on worker’s compensation concerns
- Maintain an active role on our Safety Implementation Team
- Coordinate with manufacturing, engineering, etc., on the design and construction of new equipment, facilities and processes to insure safe design
- Develop and recommend general accident prevention programs to include specific protective procedures and devices
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety or related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience Internship experience
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Prior experience in a manufacturing/production facility
- Background in environmental regulations
- Must be willing to travel to various plant locations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to perform basic statistical analysis and interpret data
The following represents general working conditions for this role. Specific conditions may vary depending on business needs and individual circumstances. This position is based in a manufacturing or production environment and may involve exposure to loud noise, dust, moving machinery, or temperature fluctuations. The role may require standing for extended periods, repetitive motions, lifting items up to 50 pounds, bending, kneeling, climbing, or using tools and equipment.
Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn when required. Visual and auditory acuity are needed for safe equipment operation and effective communication in a busy workspace. Pay Range: $51,400.00 - $79,200.00 The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
