Quality Technician Lead
The Quality Technician Lead is responsible for performing standardized qualitative and quantitative tests on work-in-process and finished products to ensure compliance with company Quality and Food Safety standards. The QA Lead Technician is also responsible for providing training and guidance to a team of Lab Technicians.
Shift and
Schedule:
This position will support the 3rd shift 8:00pm - 4:00am Sunday through Friday. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays is required.
Position Responsibilities:
- Organoleptic and analytical analyses of products at various stages of production to ensure compliance with company Quality and Food Safety standards.
- Responsible for maintaining sound calibration and validation programs for lab instrumentation.
- Must be adept at determining that each instrument or device performs within the specified operational parameters.
- Responsible for providing accurate results and exhibit sound judgment before releasing data used to adjust syrup tanks and release finished product to market.
- Performs microbiological testing of water, sugar, finished products, etc. by membrane filtration technique.
- Performs surface swabbing on equipment.
- Assures quality and integrity of raw bulk ingredients such as sugar, CO 2, Liquid N 2, etc.
- Understands chemical principles and theories related to analytical methods and instrumentation, GLP (Good Laboratory Practices), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP, Chemical Safety as well as lab housekeeping procedures.
- Responsible for the maintenance of QA document and record control procedures, formula and specification control, consumer complaints, nonconforming materials and products, etc.
- Perform statistical analysis of laboratory data and use data to recommend improvement in processes.
- Responsible for weekly inventory and stocking of laboratory supplies as well as researching alternative sources to reduce cost without jeopardizing quality.
- Responsible for finished product retain system management.
- Train new personnel and existing laboratory staff to new procedures and techniques.
- Conduct instrument and method development, perform validation programs on new processes and procedures.
- Assist Quality Supervisors and Quality Managers with special projects as directed.
Total Rewards:
Pay starting at $30.39 per hour. The employee will move to a higher rate of $31.96 per hour in the quarter after their 6-month anniversary. Benefits, subject to eligibility (where applicable):

Requirements:
- Science background. Chemistry, Biology or Food Science-related degree preferred.
- Laboratory experience in a dairy, food or beverage manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Ability to handle stressful, fast-paced and rapidly-changing environment.
- Must be able to multitask and excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Computer
Skills:
Advanced knowledge in Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, InfinityQS, Minitab, SAP. - Excellent training capabilities, excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Dependable, detail-oriented, good problem-solving abilities and strong commitment to teamwork.
- Ability to work any shift and/or overtime as required.
