Step into Your New RoleKleinfelder's Houston, Texas office is seeking a Senior Laboratory Technician to join our Red River CoMET team. We provide construction inspection and material testing services to a broad range of local and national clients.
Responsibilities- Perform testing on concrete, soil, and other construction materials in accordance with applicable standard test methods.
- Report verification of conformance to approved plans and specifications.
- Communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, technicians, and other design professionals.
- Maintain Kleinfelder's local lab accreditations.
- Perform field observations and testing on materials testing projects to verify conformance to the construction plans and specifications.
- Submit daily field reports and data reports summarizing daily activities.
- Minimum 3+ years of laboratory experience in CoMET or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a drug test.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member, maintain composure, and work effectively in a high‑pressure environment with changing priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to use a company‑provided laptop or iPad and a working knowledge of MS Office programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Bend and lift up to 50 pounds (22.68 kg) repetitively and lift over 50 pounds (22.68 kg) using handling equipment (hand truck, etc.).

- Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT)
- National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET)
High school diploma or equivalent with some college preferred.
