Carry out inspections on both in-house manufactured components and vendor-supplied parts to verify they meet established quality requirements. Ensure inspection records are properly maintained, support shop-floor quality practices, and contribute to ongoing improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect new and repaired parts to confirm compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records in line with internal quality procedures.
  • Perform first article, in-process, visual, and final inspections using precision hand tools and CMM equipment.
  • Oversee calibration and upkeep of inspection instruments, coordinating with external calibration providers when necessary.
  • Keep the inspection area organized and compliant with standards.
  • Identify and document nonconforming products, issue NCRs, and work with manufacturing support to resolve issues.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Provide technical support to repair projects and collaborate with logistics, procurement, vendors, and shop-floor teams.
  • Assist shop personnel in interpreting drawings, tolerances, and quality requirements.
  • Help develop and refine inspection procedures, work instructions, and SOPs.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Verify material certifications and maintain traceability documentation.
  • Support supplier quality activities, including incoming inspections and vendor assessments.
  • Review inspection reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Act as a resource for measurement tools and best practices, training machinists and technicians in inspection techniques.
  • Promote a culture of quality awareness and accountability across the shop floor.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience & Expectations
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed manufacturing drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T and its application in inspection.
  • Familiarity with BS, DIN, EN, ISO standards.
  • Exposure to nondestructive testing methods is a plus.
  • Experience with reciprocating compressors is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Self-motivated, proactive problem solver with accountability.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems; ISO 45001 familiarity is a plus.
  • Proficiency with handheld measuring equipment and precision tools.
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in a technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, and SharePoint is helpful.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
