Job Summary:
In this role, you will prepare supplier quality procedures, operating instructions and develop project specific metrics. You will issue assignments for quality surveillance, capability surveys, and audits. You will plan and oversee surveillances, report technical and quality issues, and monitor dispositions and corrections.
Major Responsibilities:- Represents the procurement supplier quality function on the project Reviews material requisitions including technical specifications with respect to quality requirements and participates with Engineering in determining levels of surveillance required and establishing witness and hold points Prepares material requisition specific Quality Surveillance Plans and work instructions Prepares and issues quality surveillance, capability survey and audit assignments for execution by the assigned Area Supplier Quality Specialists Reviews, edits, and accepts reports prior to distribution and in accordance with project requirements Distributes reports and correspondence in compliance with project document control procedures Advises interested parties of technical and quality issues reported in area/shop Quality Surveillance Reports Monitors dispositions and corrections made to assure documented evidence of satisfactory closeout Participates in resolution of technical and quality issues arising from area/shop Supplier Quality activities Participates in preparation of project corrective actions and root cause analyses to resolve significant issues that represent immediate or potential impact to the project
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a reputed University. Minimum 6 plus years of relevant industry experience in inspection and testing activities. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point).Experience in Renewables, Pipeline, Petrochemical, Refining, LNG, Renewable Energy, Fracking, Heat treatment
Previous in shop quality surveillance or related experience
Previous experience in planning inspections and tests
A minimum of 2000 hours of in-shop quality surveillance or related work. Must be a US Citizen.
Required Knowledge andSkills:
- Experience with major commodities typically procured for Energy projects, recognized codes and standards, manufacturing methods Performs project Supplier Quality functions having some degree of complexity, e.g., preparation of detailed inspection plans for use on complete or uniquely designed systems; preparation of full scope man-hour and budget estimates for proposed intermediate-sized projects; review of complex technical specifications; or the establishment of project corrective action(s) to resolve nonconformances that have a significant impact on project cost/schedule Provides guidance to other Area Supplier Quality Specialists and non-technical support staff as assigned Assists and/or monitors activities of assigned Area Supplier Quality Specialists Requisite certification as an ANSI/ASME Level II (further to Level I competencies) and performs the following:
- Conducts capability surveys of a prospective supplier
- Participates as an audit team member or technical resource for nuclear material and/or quality program audits Monitors the administrative and technical performance of Third-Party Agency quality surveillance contractor personnel to ensure that Corporate Supplier Quality Manual and Procedures and quality surveillance assignment instructions are implemented
