Role Overview The Production Quality Manager is an on-site leader responsible for quality assurance and control across the full product lifecycle for modular enclosures and skid-mounted systems. Reporting functionally to the Regional Quality Manager, this position enforces facility-level Quality Plans, ensures regulatory compliance, manages root-cause analyses, and serves as the primary quality authority on-site.
Key Responsibilities Quality Authority & Execution:
Serve as the facility lead for corporate/regional QMS, approving and maintaining Quality Plans, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and shipment readiness documentation.
Work & Hold Point Management:
Establish quality hold points, witness points, and FAT readiness; hold authority to stop work to mitigate quality, safety, or compliance risks.
Audits & Standards Compliance:
Oversee audits, inspections, and FATs to ensure compliance with customer specs and codes (UL, NEC, NFPA, IEC, CSA, ASME, AWS).Defect & Supplier Management:
Manage NCR/CAPA processes, root cause analysis, continuous improvement, and supplier/subcontractor quality requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with engineering, production, project management, and external clients to resolve technical issues and support quality reviews.
Leadership & Improvement:
Mentor staff on quality standards and drive lean manufacturing initiatives across the facility.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
10–12+ years of quality experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial assembly environments.
Technical Expertise:
Hands-on experience with modular systems, skid-mounted equipment, or industrial enclosures; ISO-9001 knowledge preferred.
Skills:
Proficient in reading engineering drawings/specs, Microsoft Office, and driving CAPA processes. Strong communication, multi-tasking, and problem-solving abilities.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions Indoor manufacturing/office environment with low-to-loud noise levels depending on shop-floor activity.
Standard physical requirements: sitting, standing, walking, bending, and occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
