Description:

Provides assistance and expertise in various areas of research such as preparation of results for presentation, monitoring test subjects, gathering and entering data, ensuring adherence to procedures, and basic analyses of data.

We are seeking a full-time entry-level Research Assistant with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or a related field, ideal for recent graduates seeking hands-on research experience immediately after college. No prior research experience is required, although previous laboratory experience will be considered a plus. We are seeking a motivated individual with strong organizational, teamwork, and communication skills. Salary is competitive and follows University of Houston guidelines.

Our laboratory investigates the visual system using state-of-the-art approaches spanning structural, electrophysiological, biochemical, and molecular biology. Techniques include basic molecular biology, electrophysiology, light and electron microscopy, protein chemistry, cloning and vector construction, nano-formulation, and non-viral gene therapy in mouse models carrying disease-relevant photoreceptor gene variants. The Research Assistant will work closely with the Principal Investigator and will receive comprehensive training from experienced laboratory personnel to perform experiments and generate data for the lab.

Experience will be considered in lieu of education.

Education will be considered in lieu of experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree with 0 years of experience.
