The Research Technician II position is available to assist the routine nutritional and epigenetics research work. The technician will follow established procedures for mouse colony maintenance and record results. The technician will also perform job related to laboratory ordering and assist in preparing biological specimens for analysis. Experience with molecular biology is desirable.
Job Duties- Conducts epigenetic research using in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo models.
- Assists with routine nutritional and epigenetics research work.
- Maintains mouse lines in animal facilities that includes breeding and recording.
- Prepares buffers and dilutions for laboratory use.
- Prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments including PCR.
- Collects and documents cell and tissue samples for molecular analysis.
- Orders laboratory supplies and equipment.
- Performs other laboratory routine research that includes DNA methylation and gene expression analysis.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- No experience required.
- Knowledge in molecular biology or a closely related field.
- Experiences with PCR, mouse models, and/or studies of microbiology are desirable.
