Postdoctoral Fellow - Experimental Therapeutics

Multiple Postdoctoral positions are available in the Department of Experimental Therapeutics and James P. Allison Institute, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, United States. This position reports to Dr. Xi Chen.

The postdoctoral fellow will study how cancer and its immune microenvironment sense and respond to stresses and therapeutic insults to evade immune surveillance and develop drug resistance. The fellow will conduct experiments, perform data analysis and prepare manuscripts in addition to attending lab meetings, journal clubs, and research seminars.

All duties and responsibilities are carried out in compliance with institutional policies, ethical research standards, and applicable federal and state regulations.

The Postdoctoral Fellow's primary research focus is to help the PI merge mechanistic insights with the translational objectives of experimental therapeutics and the accompanying stratifications of genetic biomarkers to address unmet clinical needs in ovarian cancer. The Postdoctoral Fellow will train, learn and study design, data analysis and manuscript writing.

Individuals with a PhD degree in immunology, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, cancer biology, or related fields, with a strong sense of curiosity and passion for science are required. Strong background and working knowledge in these areas is preferred. Expertise in flow cytometry, biochemistry, and animal models is strongly preferred.

MD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000 depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience.
