Summary
The Department of Psychiatry is seeking a part‑time candidate (12 hours per week) to support primary investigators in the conduct of research studies. The selected individual will work closely with PIs to assist with data collection, contribute to data analysis, and help generate well‑organized written reports of research findings. This role requires attention to detail, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to present analysis results in a clear and structured format.
Location:
Ben Taub Hospital/NPC Bldg Houston, TX 77030. The position is scheduled to be worked during standard business hours and is a non‑benefits eligible position.
Under close supervision, conducts research activities according to the research protocol.
- Research activities may include some or all of the following:
- Trainings
- Patient recruiting and screening
- Patient interviews / assessments
- Cognitive testing
- Biological sample collection
- Collects, evaluates, and interprets research data to provide information to principal investigators and other researchers.
- Updates records and databases as needed.
- Orders lab supplies and/or other supplies as directed by senior research staff.
- Maintains regulatory binders.
- Attends research meetings.
- May perform blood draws and obtain vital signs.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
- One year of relevant experience.
- Medical degree
- Psychiatry experience
