Description

The Department of Pharmacological and Pharmaceutical Sciences(PPS) at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Houston invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track Research Associate Professor position in the areas of pharmaceuticalsciences and drug development.

The primary responsibility is to lead the efforts to developcollaborative grant proposals to the internal (division of research) and external funding agencies (NIH, CIPRIT etc.) in theareas of cancer prevention and therapy with a focus on colonicorganoids developed from intestinal polyps, histology andhistochemistry related to polyps, colon cancer models in rodentmodels; mechanisms of action of drug combinations to treat orprevent colon polyps and cancer.

Responsibilities
  • Preparing materials & proposals for submission to relevantgranting agencies and foundations for external funding to advancelab’s research.
  • Preparing progress and final reports, conductingliterature reviews, collecting and analyzing data, attending grantrelated meetings.
  • Preparing publications, reports and presentations, and presenting research at national and international meetings.
  • Supervising and/or mentoring other members of the grant team, including staff and graduate students,when required.
  • Building research collaborations to strengthenexisting and expand new research capabilities.
Qualifications

PhD with 7 or more years of postdoctoral research experience in an academic setting and evidence of substantial experience inobtaining and maintaining animal/human studies protocols, writingsuccessful grant proposals, and simultaneously interacting with andimpacting multiple research projects. Strong academic and researchcredentials directly related to organoids, organoid development,organoid characterization, and evaluation of drugs using organoidmodels are highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences,Pharmacology or other relevant fields with 7 or more years ofpostdoctoral research experience in an academic setting.
