Summary

A Research Technician II position is available in the Department of Neurosurgery. The successful candidate will work within a multi‑disciplinary research team, collaborating to identify and characterize epigenetic drivers of glioma initiation and progression, with a long‑term goal of developing new therapies for pediatric brain tumors. Responsibilities will include setting up the lab, managing orders of lab supplies and equipment, assisting with lab operations such as mouse colony maintenance, and conducting routine experiments, including RNA and protein analysis and cellular assays.

Job Duties
  • Prepare and conduct laboratory research experiments.
  • Collect, compile, and analyze data.
  • Document and interpret results of experiments and report to the principal investigator.
  • Select, evaluate, and apply techniques used in routine research.
  • Order laboratory supplies and equipment.
  • Oversee the compilation of the lab manual, maintenance of lab equipment, and lab environment.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of the lab autoclave, make buffer solutions, and clean glassware.
  • Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous work in animal models and experience with stereotactic rodent surgery is highly preferred, but not required.
