Research Associate - Anesthesiology

Position Summary

Plans, conducts, and directs a wide variety of research processes. Assists with day‑to‑day activities for research projects and may impact the success of the research project(s).

• Collects, evaluates, interprets, and documents research data to accomplish objectives of various scientific experiments and research projects.
• Supports project direction and outcomes by identifying opportunities to enhance, terminate, or re‑direct research activities.
• Maintains quality‑control checks and a safe environment in compliance with governmental and University policies, rules, regulations, and codes.
• Evaluates and interprets data and provides results to investigators to support publication.
• Provides direction and training to lab staff to ensure efficient, timely and high‑quality results in compliance with all protocols, guidelines, regulations, etc.
• Assists in the preparation and writing of research reports, manuscripts, papers, and grant proposals for presentation and publication.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required;
Master’s Degree preferred.

Three years of related research experience required.

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

This position is security-sensitive pursuant to Texas Education Code. Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
