The Gautier Lab in the Department of Epigenetics and Molecular Carcinogenesis at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center seeks highly motivated postdoctoral fellows. The research focuses on how genome organization facilitates DNA repair, replication, and transcription to prevent pathological rearrangements and cancer development. Researchers with a strong interest in genome integrity and cancer biology are invited to apply.
Responsibilities- Design experiments using established protocols in cell biology, genomics, proteomics, or related areas
- Optimize experimental design through literature searches
- Analyze imaging, sequencing, and protein datasets with appropriate statistical tools
- Prepare data for presentation at weekly lab meetings, departmental seminars, scientific groups, and conferences
- Prepare experimental data for publication
- All duties performed in compliance with institutional policies, ethical research standards, and applicable federal and state regulations
- Improve study design, data analysis, and manuscript writing skills
- Develop presentation skills through regular meetings and conferences
- PhD (or equivalent) in biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, computational biology, or a related field
- Evidence of strong scientific productivity demonstrated by high-quality research published in peer-reviewed journals
- Be collaborative, curious and willing to explore novel scientific hypotheses
- Knowledge and skills in one or more of the following areas:
- DNA repair
- Genome organization
- Live-cell imaging
- Proteomics
- Genomics data analyses
- Xenopus cell-free extracts
MD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000 depending on level of postgraduate experience. Benefits include medical, dental, paid time off, retirement, tuition benefits, educational opportunities, and individual and team recognition.
