DescriptionThe Department of Pharmacological and Pharmaceutical Sciences (PPS) at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Houston invites applications for a full‑time non‑tenure track Research Associate Professor position in the areas of pharmaceutical sciences and drug development.
The primary responsibility is to lead the efforts to develop collaborative grant proposals to the internal (Division of Research) and external funding agencies (NIH, CIPRIT, etc.) focusing on cancer prevention and therapy with colonic organoids derived from intestinal polyps, histology, and histochemistry related to polyps, colon cancer rodent models, and mechanisms of action of drug combinations to treat or prevent colon polyps and cancer.
ResponsibilitiesPh.D. with 7 or more years of postdoctoral research experience in an academic setting and evidence of substantial experience in obtaining and maintaining animal/human studies protocols, writing successful grant proposals, and simultaneously interacting with and impacting multiple research projects.
Strong academic and research credentials directly related to organoids, organoid development, organoid characterization, and evaluation of drugs using organoid models are highly desirable.
Preferred QualificationsPh.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacology, or other relevant fields with 7 or more years of postdoctoral research experience in an academic setting.
