Postdoctoral Associate is looking for an entry level postdoctoral researcher with experience in chemical synthesis, specifically peptides and/or peptide natural products. Postdoctoral Associate will be expected to independently lead several projects in the lab, ranging from the the synthesis and testing of genetically predicted peptide natural products to the determination of structure-activity relationships. Job Duties- Designs and executes of scientific experiments.
- Performs scientific tasks related to the synthesis, purification, and testing of peptide natural products.
- Interprets experimental results and records for publication or patent applications.
- Serves as senior team members.
- Provides mentorship and informal education to junior researchers.
- Leads several projects in the lab, ranging from the the synthesis and testing of genetically predicted peptide natural products to the determination of structure-activity relationships.
- Works on conventional chemical synthesis, along with recording, interpreting, and reporting results are all expected tasks.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
- PhD in Chemistry or related field (e.g.: Chemical Biology, Organic Chemistry).
- Experience in solid phase peptide synthesis and particularly in the synthesis of peptide natural products is valued.
- Experience with NMR and familiarity with LCMS is essential.
