The Department of Integrative Biology and Pharmacology (IBP) is interested in the cell biology, physiology and pharmacology of cell regulation and communication. Our major research themes include the molecular mechanisms and spatiotemporal dynamics of membrane signaling, intracellular and metabolic signaling, the biology and physiology of cell-cell interactions, and the use of computational, structural and systems approaches to decipher signaling networks.
We are looking for a highly self-motivated individual with a recent PhD degree in biomedical sciences and solid expertise in molecular cell biology, biochemistry, and/or cancer biology. The successful candidate will study lipid signaling and metabolism in cancer or metabolic diseases.
Training and experience in basic molecular cell biology are required.

Experience with cancer biology, animal handling, and mouse genetics is preferred. The successful applicant will be working in an active research department within the renowned Texas Medical Center (TMC) and gaining exposure to cutting-edge cell biology techniques.
The incumbent would

  • Plan and conduct experiments, analyze data, and prepare publications describing results.
  • Assists in training and mentoring lab personnel, including graduate students and other trainees.
  • Reads and evaluates literature.


Preferred Qualifications :
  • A recent PhD or equivalent in a related scientific field, or candidates who are soon to complete their PhD.

Position Summary: A biomedical postdoc position provides an opportunity for early-career researchers to gain valuable experience, develop independent research skills, and contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge in their field of expertise.
