Description:
We welcome applicants with experience who are motivated to work independently in corneal and retinal function and disease. In this role, you will perform both scientific experiments and engage in lab management. This position includes project management as well as coaching or training students and new lab members.
- Survival mouse surgery, tissue collection and histology, and behavioral studies, fluorescence microscopy, data analysis and laboratory management.
- In-depth knowledge of Photoshop, Image J and other image analysis software, excel including macros and automation, and PowerPoint is required.
- Ability to plan and conduct research in a large and complex areas of specialization.
- Contribute original ideas to the development and execution of projects, and to research design with Principal Investigators and scientists.
- Serve as co-author to prepare reports and manuscripts for publication.
- Corneal and/or retinal neurobiology, brain anatomy, and data analyses.
- Experience with animal handling and behavior, fluorescence immunohistochemistry, confocal microscopy, transgenic animals.
- Clear and engaging communication skills with team members.
Experience will be considered in lieu of education.
Education will be considered in lieu of experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree with 7 years experience.
