Research Coordinator II

The Research Coordinator II will work with investigators in the Department of Medicine in the Section of Epidemiology and Population Sciences. This position will be working on various projects, including a nation-wide epidemiology research study of African American Men with Prostate Cancer, and will work closely with maintaining contact with the study participants and communities involved in the research study. Day to day activities of research protocols which include screening, enrollment, and monitoring of research participants.

Ensures accurate data collection, documentation, organization, and safety of research participants.

Job Duties:

  • Coordinate participant recruitment, enrollment, follow-up, and retention efforts for epidemiologic research studies, ensuring adherence to protocol requirements and fostering long-term participant engagement.
  • Facilitate the informed consent process by ensuring participants understand study objectives, procedures, risks, benefits, and expectations.
  • Coordinate day-to-day research operations, including participant visits, protocol implementation, and study monitoring to ensure compliance and participant safety.
  • Collect, manage, and maintain high-quality research data, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established data management standards.
  • Coordinate study assessments, questionnaires, and other research measures while ensuring protocol fidelity and data integrity.
  • Support specimen collection, processing collection, processing, shipping, and tracking activities in accordance with protocol-specific requirements and biosafety guidelines.
  • Maintain comprehensive study records, regulatory files, and compliance records to meet institutional, sponsor, and regulatory expectations.
  • Collaborate closely with principal investigators, research teams, and community organizations to advance study objectives and promote engagement among underrepresented populations.
  • Monitor participant progress throughout the study lifecycle, proactively addressing concerns and supporting a positive research experience.
  • Monitor inventory levels and facilitate acquisition, tracking, and maintenance of research materials and equipment in support of study activities and participant visits.
  • Support study start-up, regulatory compliance, and closeout activities. Coordinate across multiple protocols and maintains audit-ready documentation. Track enrollment, data quality, and protocol adherence. Collaborate with investigators and research staff to support study execution.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement. One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must be bilingual in Spanish. Experience with patient recruitment. Experience with Epic. Experience with REDCap.
