Responsibilities
  • Deliver food orders from the kitchen to the appropriate tables in a prompt and efficient manner, ensuring each dish is presented correctly and meets the restaurant's quality standards.
  • Verify the accuracy of each order before delivery, check for special requests or modifications, and properly read Food Tickets.
  • Maintain effective communication with the kitchen staff to ensure orders are prepared and ready for delivery in a timely manner; collaborate with cooks to resolve issues or discrepancies.
  • Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner when delivering food orders; answer basic questions about dishes, provide condiments or utensils as requested, and ensure a positive dining experience.
  • Assist the kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks such as garnishing dishes, arranging plates, or adding finishing touches to ensure attractive presentation.
  • Assist with general cleaning tasks in the dining area, clear plates and utensils, wipe down tables, and maintain cleanliness in the food delivery area.
  • Familiarize yourself with the menu offerings, ingredients, and preparation methods to provide accurate information and recommendations to customers.
  • Ensure careful arrangement and presentation of orders, paying attention to plating, garnishing, and portion sizes; check each order for accuracy and completeness before delivery.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper handling of food items, practicing proper hygiene and sanitation, and following restaurant policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Previous experience as a food runner or in a similar role is preferred but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.
  • Strong physical stamina and the ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Excellent coordination and time management skills to ensure prompt food delivery.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact positively with customers and staff.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy under pressure.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required in a restaurant setting.
