Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate
$10.00 to $14.00 per hour with a commission structure that pays you for every transaction you process. You can earn up to 8% on sales, which could average an additional $2.29 per hour on top of your hourly rate.
Position SummaryWe are seeking entry‑level, part‑time sales associates for our pawn store locations nationwide. The role partners with the entire store staff to ensure excellent customer service on both lending and retail sides of the business. The associate greets, engages, and processes sales, loans, and related transactions while maintaining a positive shopping experience. Employees may work with a wide variety of merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and many more.
Responsibilities- Greets and interacts with all customers, developing rapport to better provide and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
- Performs non‑management open/close procedures.
- Keeps the sales floor clean, stocked, and displays merchandise.
- Performs sales and loan transactions in accordance with established policies, procedures, practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Handles all cash and negotiable items in accordance with policies and regulations.
- Answers incoming calls per company standards.
- Effectively communicates to customers the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions.
- Communicates effectively with coworkers and managers, showing respect and using effective communication tools.
- Partners with all employees to create a positive and memorable customer experience.
- Successfully completes assigned training.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must be willing and able to perform duties and tasks for extended periods of time, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
- Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
- May be asked to assist a customer outside the building or retrieve products from exterior storage buildings.
- Minimum age: 18 years old.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Strong desire to work, serve customers, work with people, and be team‑oriented.
- Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations proficiently.
- Cash handling experience preferred.
- Must be able to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
- Must have the ability to work a flexible retail schedule based on business needs, including weekends and holidays.
- Computer literate and able to operate Point‑of‑Sale (POS) systems and common office machines.

Commission PlanThe employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Pawnbrokers can earn 2–8% commission based on the gross profit of their personal performance. Applicants will receive more details during the interview process.
