Under direct supervision from the Bakery Manager, the Bakery Clerk provides customer service and performs various tasks within the bakery:

• Assist customers with bakery purchases and take special orders.
• Clean shelving and display cases, and rotate the self‑serve displays in the front of the store and adjacent to the bakery.
• Collaborate with the Baker to determine items that may need to be baked or decorated.
• Support departmental cleaning by hosing down floors with soap and water to maintain cleanliness.
• Handle other duties as assigned.

• Read and write Spanish/English; interact with the general public and coworkers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
• Apply common‑sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift up to 25 lbs, frequently up to 45 lbs, and occasionally up to 60 lbs.

Food Handler Card or equivalent certification is required for all positions related to the preparation, handling, and serving of food.
