EssentialJob Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide best‑in‑class guest service: greet guests promptly, respond to inquiries with courtesy, and assist guests in meeting their gaming needs. Inform guests about special promotions, the trade‑in program, and recommend additional items as appropriate.
- Support the overall store environment, including visual and operational elements, and nurture guest relationships that drive sales and repeat business.
- Process guest purchases and returns accurately via the Point‑of‑Sale (POS) computer system.
- Promote Game Stop’s guest benefits, such as title reservations and the Pro Rewards loyalty program.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and merchandised store, ensuring all fixtures and equipment are in working order.
- Complete daily Omni‑Channel orders and conduct inventory counts, stock shelves, and manage back‑room merchandise.
- Safeguard company assets through effective inventory control, loss prevention practices, and bank deposit procedures.
- Assist management in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals, and complete required administrative duties.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates when management is absent.
- Adhere to all Game Stop policies, procedures, opening and closing protocols, and performance expectations.
- Proof of identity and eligibility to work legally in the United States.
- Minimum age 18 years and a high school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of retail sales, guest service, or management experience preferred.
- Video game knowledge preferred.
- Physical ability to work alone, stand, and move throughout the store unassisted for up to 10 hours per day.
Skills And Abilities
- Exceptional guest service skills and friendly assistance to every guest.
- Clear verbal, written, and listening communication; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Basic math and alphabetizing skills; proficiency operating the POS system.
- Self‑motivation, teamwork, problem‑solving, and judgment.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability.
- Physical capability to lift up to 30 lbs. and stand/move for up to 10 hours daily.
Full‑time store positions are eligible to participate in incentive programs, 401(k), paid time off, dental, vision, and health insurance. Additional bonuses and incentives may also be available.
Compensation$8.50 – $11.25 per hour
