BGSF has partnered with a leading global logistics and transportation company, looking for a driven Regional Controller to join their Houston-based team. This role will be responsible for U.S. operations while also offering oversight and support across other regions including Canada and South America. Our client is ideally looking for someone with a freight forwarding background who’s ready to step up and make an impact.
You’ll work out of the Houston corporate office and collaborate with leadership to shape the region's accounting function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee accounting operations across the Americas, focusing on accurate reporting and financial consolidation
- Own the month-end close process, AP/AR, internal invoicing, and cross-charges
- Guide and build out accounting systems and controls
- Serve as a key liaison between corporate and local finance teams
- Support the rollout of upcoming bonus structure initiatives
- Collaborate cross-functionally on special projects and process improvements
Top Qualifications:
- 8–10 years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably with freight forwarding experience
- CPA or CPA-track highly preferred
- BS in Accounting or Finance
- Experience with transportation/logistics software a big plus
- Strong leadership, analytical, and organizational skills
