Under direct supervision from the Bakery Manager, the Bakery Clerk provides customer service and performs various tasks within the bakery, including:

• Assisting customers with bakery purchases and taking special orders
• Cleaning shelving and display cases, and maintaining self‑serve displays
• Working with the Baker to determine items that need baking or decorating
• Hosing down floors with soap and water to maintain cleanliness
• Performing other department cleaning duties

• Ability to read and write Spanish/English, interact with general public and co‑workers
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos
• Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds

• Basic PC/Outlook skills
• Retail Management Certificate

Food Handler Card or its equivalent certification is required for all positions related to preparation, handling and serving food.
