Job Description

As a Nordstrom Rack team member, you will continuously move and collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all customers. You will ensure a quick customer experience, keep the store clean and clutter free, and sometimes work in different areas to maintain floor and stockroom cleanliness and help customers find great deals.
Salesand Customer Service Responsibilities
- Work with the team to keep the sales floor “runway ready,” sized and filled through re-merchandising and straightening throughout the day.
- Assist customers at the cashier with various transactions across in-store, online, and mobile platforms, operating the POS system, bagging items of all sizes, handling bulky or heavy items—including boxes—and ensuring a friendly experience.
- Create a smooth fitting room experience by greeting customers, attending to them, and sorting and returning clothing to the floor.
- Maintain a clean and clutter-free customer experience by sorting and returning clothing to the sales floor.
- Keep stockrooms organized, ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed.
- Demonstrate expertise in all store technologies.
- Adhere to all operational, merchandise, and asset protection standards.
- Promote initiatives such as the Nordstrom Rewards program.
- Receive, unload freight, unpack, and deliver newly arrived merchandise to selling departments.
- Fulfill customer orders promptly while meeting quality standards.
- Prepare and ship customer orders per packing and shipping standards.
- Use inventory management systems to scan, process, and research merchandise shipments per inventory control procedures.
- Maintain clean and organized selling floors and stockrooms.
- Provide general store support, such as setting up special events, organizing backroom, handling markdowns, and relocating store fixtures.
- Clear, effective communication and strong interpersonal skills.

- Organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
- Continuous movement for 6-8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching to handle merchandise and assist customers.
- Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
- Handle bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items, including lifting above the head.
- Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
- For stock and fulfillment only: frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Hourly pay ranges from $16.60 to $17.30. Pay offers vary by location and depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
