Showroom Attendant

FITTINGS/SHOWROOM ATTENDANT

OPENWORK is currently engaged in a search for a fittings/showroom attendant in Northwest Houston.

As a fittings/showroom attendant, you’ll be responsible for:

• Keep the showroom appealing to the eye by keeping all aisles clean and clear of trash and packing debris. This will include sweeping, dusting, cleaning any spills or mishaps, organizing merchandise into neat rows, etc.
• Ensure all shelves and bins are organized, labeled and stock levels maintained.
• Maintaining visual displays of products by arranging items on shelves, racks or tables.
• Preparing products for sale by unpacking, labelling and sometimes minor assembly.
• Making minor repairs on some items, displays, shelves and racks.
• Perform daily inventory checks as needed and provide warehouse with stock requests needed to maintain inventory levels in showroom.
• Maintain and organize a safe showroom environment for customers and employees.
• Ensure customers have the best experience possible by being courteous and knowledgeable about all our products.
• Fill orders accurately double-check size, grade, alloy, quality, and heat numbers.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Must be able to follow all customer special instructions listed on pick tickets.
• Operate equipment safely such as Forklifts, Threading Machine, & Shrink fast Gun.
• Loading and off-loading of incoming and outgoing trucks.

• HS diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a steel manufacturing industry is highly preferred.
• Ability to pass a background and drug/alcohol screen
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift, climb and perform various other physical functions
• Must be able to handle, lift and carry steel parts up to 50 lbs.
• Must work well with others and be a team player
• Position requires complete physical agility, mobility and dexterity
• Display the ability to accurately use basic math skills
• Ability to read pick tickets, tape measurers, and other measuring devices.
• Must have attention to detail and great organizational skills.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Bilingual is a required!
• Must have a flexible schedule for overtime as needed!
• Must always be clean cut and appear presentable in front of customers in the right PPE. (Graphic shirts are not allowed)

Monday - Friday, 7AM or 8AM (hours assigned by supervisor), eight hour shifts, but MUST be willing to work overtime as needed with little to last-minute notice!

$17/hr.
