• Read and write Spanish/English; interact with general public and co‑workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

• Basic PC/Outlook skills.
• Retail Management Certificate.

Under direct supervision from the Bakery Manager, the Bakery Clerk provides customer service and conducts various tasks within the bakery department.

• Provide friendly, courteous, and helpful service to customers with bakery purchases.
• Clean shelving and display cases.
• Fill, rotate, and maintain self‑serve displays in the front and adjacent to the bakery.
• Take special orders and work with the Baker to determine items that need to be baked or decorated.
• Assist in department cleaning, including hosing down floors with soap and water.

The working environment is typical for a fast‑paced grocery store. Essential functions include physical requirements of lifting, standing, walking, and kneeling, as well as visual and auditory requirements.

Food Handler Card or its equivalent certification is required for all positions related to preparation, handling, and serving food.
