Role Summary

Wood Mackenzie is looking for an enthusiastic, talented, and ambitious sales professional to join our growing Trading Solutions Sales team. The Product Sales Specialist (PSS) will partner with Vertical and New Logo sales teams to identify, grow and embed our oil, gas and power trading solutions product suite across existing customers and new logos, specifically in the Americas. The PSS reports to the Head of Trading Solutions Specialist Sales and will assist the sales team in achieving its targets while ensuring knowledge transfer across the business.

Responsibilities
  • Product and sector expertise: Develop a deep understanding of the value of our trading solutions products to customers and a good understanding of the oil, gas and power trading sectors to support new business identification. Act as an internal ambassador for the trading solutions business, supporting communication of product enhancements and market developments across the organisation and working with teams including sales, customer education, customer success, marketing, research and consulting.
  • Growth mindset: Partner closely with Account Management colleagues to identify and develop new commercial opportunities within existing customer accounts by understanding client workflows, uncovering unmet needs, identifying new buying centres, and demonstrating the breadth of Wood Mackenzie’s trading solutions suite to address those requirements. Collaborate with New Logo Sales team to support new business opportunities across the sales cycle, including qualification, validation, and understanding customer needs, while demonstrating the breadth of the trading solutions and how they solve clear customer problems.
  • Territory planning: Develop, regularly maintain, and own a sales plan for your territory. Identify key growth markets, needle‑moving opportunities, and risks within your existing portfolio to plan your time effectively and develop a sales strategy and tactics. Collaborate with other stakeholders to build and execute on your plan, including Account Management, New Logo Sales, Product Sales colleagues, Customer Success, Research, and Consulting.
  • Product development collaboration: Work closely with the Product and Research teams to help shape the trading solutions product development roadmap based on customer feedback, your experience and knowledge of customer workflows, and relevant competitor intelligence. Support new trading solutions product and service development launches.
Qualifications
  • Significant experience in client‑facing, pre‑sales, or technical/solution specialist roles.
  • Experience engaging with oil, gas and power trading desks and a strong understanding of their workflows.
  • Deep knowledge of the oil, gas and power trading sector.
  • Extensive commercial track record in supporting client development and acting as a trusted subject‑matter expert.
  • Self‑motivated and energetic, solution‑oriented and results‑oriented.
  • Proven track record of collaborating with different internal teams to achieve commercial success.
  • Outstanding judgment in resource utilisation and optimisation.
  • Passion for growing the business and genuine interest in personal development.
  • Intellectual curiosity about how data and analysis solve critical business issues.
  • Effective organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage own workload effectively.
  • Previous experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce is an advantage.
